AIDA CERKEZ




Aida Čerkez je rojena v Sarajevu. Magistrirala je s področja komunikologije in mirovnih  študij. 24 let je delala kot novinarka in vodja pisarne Associated Press (AP) v Sarajevu, leta 2017 pa je postala urednica v raziskovalni mreži Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project (OCCRP). Od ustanovitve dalje sodeluje s Centrom za raziskovalno novinarstvo (CIN), od leta 2005 pa je članica skupščine te organizacije. Na podlagi njene izkušnje je bil leta 2018 posnet film “Kako se zdaj imenuje ta država?” V filmu novinarka Aida leta 1994 ob osemdesetletnici atentata na avstroogrskega prestolonaslednika Franza Ferdinanda skuša najti pričo tega prelomnega zgodovinskega dogodka. Najde 90-letnega Ismeta, ki je bil v času atentata star 10 let. Celo življenje je preživel v Sarajevu, njegova država pa je zamenjala pet imen.

Aida Čerkez was born in Sarajevo. She worked as a journalist and Associated Press (AP) bureau chief in Sarajevo for 24 years. In 2017 she became an editor at the Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project (OCCRP), an investigative network. She has been working with the Centre for Investigative Journalism (CIN) since its inception and has been a member of its Assembly since 2005. Her experience was the basis for the 2018 film "What's This Country Called Now?" In the film, on the 80th anniversary of the assassination of the Austro-Hungarian heir to the throne, Franz Ferdinand, in 1994, journalist Aida tries to find an eyewitness to this landmark historical event. She finds 90-year-old Ismet, who was 10 years old at the time of the assassination. He has spent his entire life in Sarajevo and his country has changed five names.
