MARTA VERGINELLA



Marta Verginella je redna profesorica na Oddelku za zgodovino Filozofske fakultete Univerze v Ljubljani, kjer predava slovensko in občo novejšo zgodovino. Objavila je številne monografije in članke na temo obmejnih študij, študij spomina, ustne zgodovine in zgodovine 19. stoletja, raziskovalno se veliko posveča tudi zgodovini žensk. Vodila je projekta Pravna in politična zgodovina žensk na Slovenskem ter Ženske in prva svetovna vojna, v letih 2017-2022 pa je bila glavna raziskovalka pri evropskem raziskovalnem projektu EIRENE, ki je preučeval vpliv tranzicijskih procesov na položaj žensk po obeh svetovnih vojnah ter jugoslovanskih vojnah v 90. letih na območju severovzhodnega Jadrana. Je tudi članica več strokovnih oziroma raziskovalnih združenj. Je tudi prejemnica vrste priznanj, leta 2019 je dobila Zlato plaketo Univerze v Ljubljani za izjemne zasluge pri razvijanju znanstvenega, pedagoškega ali umetniškega ustvarjanja. 

Marta Verginella is a full professor at the History Department of the Faculty of Arts, University of Ljubljana, where she teaches recent Slovenian and general history. She has published numerous monographs and articles on border studies, memory studies, oral history and 19th century history. She also devotes a lot of her research to women's history. She led the projects Legal and Political History of Women in Slovenia and Women and the First World War. Between 2017 and 2022 she was the main researcher at the European research project EIRENE, which studied the impact of transition processes on the position of women after the two world wars and the Yugoslav wars in the 1990s in the area of the northeastern Adriatic. She is also a member of several professional or research associations. She is also recipient of a number of awards, in 2019 she received the University of Ljubljana Golden Award for outstanding merits in the development of scientific, pedagogical or artistic work.
