SUVADA SELIMOVIC




Suvada Selimović je borka za mir in pravičnost iz BiH. Kot žrtev etničnega čiščenja je nekaj let kot begunka preživela v Sloveniji. Po vrnitvi v Đuliće (konec devetdesetih) je skupaj z drugimi ženskami ustanovila "Društvo za krepitev pravic žensk - Anima 2005", ki nudi podporo ženskam z vojnimi travmami, se bori proti diskriminaciji žensk in si prizadeva za krepitev avtonomije žensk. Skupaj z Ženami v črnem od leta 2016 koordinira feministične delavnice v okviru programa Ženski mirovni aktivizem. Suvada je pričala na Posebnem sodišču za vojne zločine v Beogradu, pa tudi na Ženskem sodišču v Sarajevu (2015) in aktivno sodeluje pri vseh aktivnostih Ženskega sodišča - feministični pristop k pravičnosti. BBC jo je leta 2022 uvrstil na seznam 100 najbolj navdihujočih in vplivnih žensk na svetu!

Suvada Selimović is a fighter for peace and justice from BiH. As a victim of ethnic cleansing, she spent a couple of years in Slovenia as a refugee. After returning to Đulić (in the late 1990s), together with other women, she founded the "Association for the Empowerment of Women - Anima 2005", which provides support to women with war trauma, fights against discrimination against women and works to strengthen women's autonomy. Together with Women in Black network, since 2016, she has been coordinating feminist workshops within the 'Women's Peace Activism' program. Suvada testified at the Special Court for War Crimes in Belgrade, as well as at the Women's Court in Sarajevo (2015) and actively participates in all activities of the Women's Court - a feminist approach to justice. In 2022, BBC named her one of the 100 most inspiring and influential women in the world!
