MARINA GRZINIC

Marina Gržinić is a philosopher, artist and theoretician living between Ljubljana and Vienna. She is Full Professor at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna, Austria, and member of the Institute of Philosophy at the Slovenian Academy of Science and Arts (ZRC SAZU). Her research work is characterised by a peculiar type of eclecticism, ranging from the study of contemporary philosophy to postmodern aesthetics – her work focuses on the theory of ideology, modern technology, biopolitics, visual arts and transfeminism. In the 1980s, she was present in the formation of alternative cultural movements that developed new artistic practices and engaged political movements. Since then, together with Aina Šmid, she has been creating art video projects and short films.
