VASILKA SANCIN
Dr. Vasilka Sancin je redna profesorica za mednarodno javno pravo na Pravni fakulteti Univerze v Ljubljani in predstojnica Katedre za mednarodno pravo ter Inštituta za mednarodo pravo in mednarodne odnose. Trenutno (2022-2025) je tudi članica Svetovalnega odbora Sveta ZN za človekove pravice, med 2019 in 2022 pa je bila članica in podpredsednica odbora Združenih narodov za človekove pravice. Je tudi ad hoc sodnica Evropskega sodišča za človekove pravice, arbitra in članica urada ženevskega Sodišča za spravo in arbitražo, ki deluje v okviru Organizacije za varnost in sodelovanje v Evropi (OVSE). Je članica uredniških odborov različnih pravnih revij, avtorica in urednica številnih knjig in člankov s področja mednarodnega prava. Je tudi predsednica slovenskega Društva za mednarodno pravo za Slovenijo (ILA) in članica številnih drugih strokovnih združenj s področja mednarodnega prava in mednarodnih odnosov.
Dr. Vasilka Sancin is a full professor of public international law at the Faculty of Law of the University of Ljubljana and head of the Department of International Law and the Institute of International Law and International Relations. Currently (2022-2025), she is also a member of the Advisory Committee of the UN Human Rights Council, and between 2019 and 2022 she was a member and vice-president of the United Nations Human Rights Committee. She is also an ad hoc judge of the European Court of Human Rights, an arbitrator and a member of the office of the Geneva Court of Conciliation and Arbitration, which operates within the framework of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE). She is a member of the editorial boards of various legal journals, the author and editor of numerous books and articles in the field of international law. She is also the president of the Slovenian Society for International Law for Slovenia (ILA) and a member of many other professional associations in the field of international law and international relations.
