Irena Woelle je oblikovalka vizualnih komunikacij ter avtorica in aktivistka na stičišču družbe, kulture in okolja. Njeno delo je uvrščeno v stalno zbirko MoMA Library Special Collections / Artist's book collection v New Yorku; bila je članica žirije za Mednarodno letno nagrado Art Directors Club New York za grafično oblikovanje. Oblikuje javni prostor s projekti kot je Zeleni val / Čajni trg za Evropsko prestolnico kulture Reka in je soavtorica Spomenika izbrisanim v Ljubljani. Aktivizem (dolgoletni boji za pravice manjšin in proti onesnaževanju okolja) druži z okoljevarstvenimi praksami (urbano vrtnarjenje, čebelarstvo).

Her work is included in the permanent collection of the MoMA Library Special Collections / Artist’s Book Collection in New York; she was a member of the jury for the Art Directors Club New York’s International Annual Award for graphic design. She shapes public space through projects such as the Green Wave / Tea Market for the European Capital of Culture, Rijeka, and is co-author of the Monument to the Erased in Ljubljana. She combines activism (long-standing campaigns for minority rights and against environmental pollution) with environmental practices (urban gardening, beekeeping).
