Katja Zakrajšek je prevajalka in komparativistka, ki jo najbolj zanimajo prevodno manj zastopane pisave, zlasti afriške in afrodiasporske. Prevaja leposlovje in humanistiko iz angleščine, francoščine in portugalščine ter občasno iz slovenščine v angleščino. Piše tudi spremne besede in članke o književnosti in prevajanju; na področju otroške in mladinske književnosti se predvsem trudi mlademu bralstvu in tistim, ki delajo z njim, ponuditi orodja za boljše razumevanje vprašanj rasizma in diskriminacije.

Katja Zakrajšek is a translator and comparatist whose main interest lies in literatures that are under-represented in translation, particularly those from Africa and the African diaspora. She translates fiction and humanities texts from English, French and Portuguese, and occasionally from Slovenian into English. She also writes forewords and articles on literature and translation; in the field of children’s and young adult literature, she is particularly committed to providing young readers and those who work with them with tools to better understand issues of racism and discrimination.
